Dr. Petri Peltonen (Ph.D., University of Turku / University of Toronto) has over 30 years of experience in geoscientific research, exploration and mining. After completing his Ph.D. on metallogeny and exploration methods of magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE sulfide deposits, Petri has worked on a variety of commodities and deposit types including volcanic-hosted massive sulfides (VMS), iron ore, Cu-porphyry deposits, technology metals, gold and diamonds. Most recently he was engaged as Exploration Manager Europe for First Quantum Minerals Ltd., being responsible for regional and near-mine exploration activities in Finland, Sweden, Turkey, and Spain.
Petri is an accreted Chartered Professional of Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), European Geologist (EurGeol), Qualified Person (QP) and SEG Fellow. He also serves as Professor of Practice of Economic Geology at University of Helsinki.
